On a normal day Meals For The Elderly battles the logistics of feeding over 700 recipients in the San Angelo area.

These are not normal days!

The need is great!

DRIVERS ARE NEEEDED

Several of the regular drivers are in the high-risk category and cannot deliver meals. The route sizes vary. Meals For The Elderly provides addresses and phone numbers along with complete instructions concerning what the driver needs to do and NOT do. New protocols have been put in place to help minimize contact between volunteers, staff and recipients during this time. The meals are given to the drivers via a drive through. If possible, drivers are asked to have gloves and sanitizer for their use during delivery.  Meals For The Elderly has a limited supply.

BAGS OF GOODIES

The staff is trying to put together a GOODIE BAG for each client. This is something you can do at the church and have someone deliver the bags to the distribution office.

The plan (which doesn’t always happen!) is for each to bag to contain:

  • a roll of toilet paper
  • Kleenex
  • liquid anti-bacterial soap
  • Non-perishable single food items (preferably with pop lids, something easy to open and little to no prep time) ie. Fruit cocktail cups, Chef Boyardee single serve food, Soups, etc.

SOME PEOPLE LIVE IN ISOLATION DAILY AND RIGHT NOW

THEY NEED YOUR HELP!
